The season of Easter has always been a very special time for me. I especially love being part of the Easter Vigil Mass at Santa Rosa R.C, where we can finally burst out in a thunderous chorus of “Alleluia.” However, because of the COVID-19 pandemic, I celebrated the Easter Vigil online with the Archbishop presiding. It was a different experience than usual. Nevertheless, it was intense, Spirit-filled and lively.
New Perspectives
During the season, God has shown me how to work on aspects of my spirituality in a different way than usual. I also learned that fear and doubt hold us back from seeing Jesus- just like how fear and doubt held back the disciples on the road to Emmaus from seeing Him. As Pentecost approaches and the season of Easter draws to a close, we can adopt a new perspective on life. The Easter season teaches us that no matter how dead, lifeless and hopeless a situation seems, God has the final say. Nothing can stop the plan and power of God- not even COVID-19. Rebirth is here. Resurrection is here. Healing is here. I thank God for showing me the path to victory this Easter.
